IoLET Diploma in Translation
The IoLET Level 7 Diploma in Translation (QCF) is a professional qualification that tests professional translating skills at a postgraduate level of competence.
The examination is open to all. However, Candidates are advised to ensure prior to registering, that their level of linguistic attainment in the source language is at least equivalent to a good Honours degree, and that they are familiar with the relevant cultural background. In line with the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) requirements, as a guideline candidates should be 19yrs+.
It is the responsibility of each Candidate to ascertain that they are sufficiently prepared for the examination, and competent in both the source and target languages, have good writing skills and the ability to translate at a professional level. Candidates may choose as the source language any recognised language of a nation or a national group having a culture, literature and expression of thought to which the syllabus of the examination can be applied and in which they are suitably qualified. Occasionally, an examination cannot be set for rarer languages. Please refer to the following DipTrans Languages List on the IoLET webpage.
The European College of Business and Management (ECBM) is a registered examination centre (Centre No 1452) for the IoLET Diploma in Translation Examinations. The ECBM does not run any courses to prepare for the examination.
The registration for the IoLET Level 7 Diploma in Translation (QCF) exam in January 2018 is open from 1 May 2017 until 31 August 2017.

The European College of Business and Management is only an examination centre for the IoLET Diploma in Translation Examinations, for which we offer IT-supported exam places to external candidates.
- The ECBM Examination Centre fee is £80 per unit. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cheques, unfortunately credit card payments are not possible. Cheques should be made payable to the “European College of Business & Management”. If you prefer bank transfer please download the ECBM bank details and attach the bank transfer receipt to the application form. Please specify the date of the transfer, the name of the issuing bank, the name of the issuing account, the account number and the amount transferred.
- The IoLET Examination fee for January 2018 is £610 for 3 units – Cheques should be made payable to the “IoL Educational Trust”. Candidates can also pay by credit card or bank transfer using the IoLET bank details (available on request). Please quote candidate name when making payment for reference purposes. Failure to supply both a reference when making a BACS payment and a remittance could result in a payment being unallocated on the IoLET system. Please attach remittance & bank transfer receipt to the Entry Card.
