The European College of Business and Management (ECBM) is specialised in part-time Business and Management studies. The flexible and compact structure gives participants the perfect prerequisite for successful part-time business studies after the career entry.

The programme has been designed to meet the needs of young graduates who wish to follow a career in fashion. It is particularly relevant if you are aiming to work in fashion media, journalism, as a consultant agent or stylist.

The MA is taught by subject area and lasts 24 months, starting yearly in September.

Students choose one option out of the two subjects below (subject to minimum group numbers):

  • Holistic Retail Design

In addition to taught modules students need to submit a research project (15,000-18,000 words). The dissertation gives students the opportunity of undertaking a significant piece of independent research which applies appropriate business management and academic research concepts to investigate a significant organisational issue or problem.

Programme Delivery

This is a blended learning programme which is designed so that you can learn and work at the same time. It’s definitely possible to find the time to build your career and still gain knowledge and skills on this course. As a student on the programme you will have access to our student platform at any place and time. Even when you are away you can access the teaching material, get in touch with tutors as well as your fellow students regarding group work and study questions. And you have access to mentors and tutors who are business professionals as well as talented academics, so your network will grow and you will gain the support you need in your career.

We deliver the programme over a limited number of weekends (please see the full information guidance) and you will get the chance to spend some time in Paris, Milan, as well as teaching taking place in Germany and in London. We make the most of our teaching venues by also giving you entrance to key fashion events such as the London Fashion show and Premier Vision, Paris.

Entry Requirements

The programme is suitable for applicants with a Bachelor degree or equivalent professional education and is aimed at people wishing to follow a career in the fashion business.

The programme has been designed to meet the needs of young graduates who aim to work in fashion media, journalism, as a consultant agent or stylist.

A good level of proficiency in the English language is required as the entire programme is delivered in English. Applicants need a minimum score of 6.0 (overall) in the IELTS test to prove their English skills. You do not need to take the IELTS test if you have already achieved a Bachelor from a UK university.

Work and Study

We have designed this MA programme to offer professionals a practical and internationally orientated business education with a flexible but compact teaching schedule. The block seminar structure requires you to only take a few ‘out-of-office’ days each academic year, allowing you to develop and accelerating your career whilst following the concept of lifelong learning.

The MA prepares you for future challenges and enables you to understand changing and challenging business processes in a global business context. Elective modules allow you to customise the programme content according to your professional needs and interests.

The ECBM provides complete administration and tuition of the programme in full agreement with the Liverpool Business School which awards the MA degree. The ECBM is a validated partner of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

After completing this programme graduates have the opportunity to progress to Doctorate study, e.g. the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA).

Application

The admission process starts upon your submission of the online application form along with the supporting documents, such as your resume, employment/ internship references, diplomas and certificates. We review and respond to applications within a couple of days of receipt. You will then be contacted to schedule an interview. The interview examines the data provided in the application and supporting documents, tests your level of English and evaluates whether your profile will meet the demands of the programme.
